The Student Team Building Program
Looking for ways to engage your student group?
Looking for ways students can give back to the community?
The Team Building Program is a way for groups (a group is considered 5 or more volunteers) to take a day out of the classroom to work together as a team. The group will benefit from an informal team building experience, doing something they probably have never done before - build a home! The group will have to communicate, cooperate and get a job done. No construction skills or tools are required. Habitat for Humanity East Bay will provide skilled construction staff to train the volunteers and supervise construction. All tools, safety equipment and building materials needed for the day will be provided. Giving Back to the Community The Team Building Program is also a way for groups to give back to the community. Providing the required donation of $50 (reduced rate for students, regular rate is $100) per volunteer per day covers the cost of the building materials, tools, safety equipment, and skilled supervision for the group. This donation is tax-deductible for the group (East Bay Habitat for Humanity is an official 501(c)3 nonprofit - tax ID 94-305-3687). The group members will appreciate that through this Team Building Program they are not just having fun and learning, but also providing funds to build homes for families in need.Fundraising the Required Donation We will offer you as much support as we can to help you reach your fundraising goals. Please feel free to create your own personal fundraising page. Email your friends and family to ask for their support; they can provide pledges online. You'll be amazed how easy it is to meet, and even exceed, your goals! Chances are, your friends will be honored that you asked, and proud to support your efforts. Be sure to thank them!
