Habitat for Humanity East Bay's Dream Builder Society
As we strive to grow to meet the extraordinary need for affordable housing in the East Bay, we sometimes neglect to mention the increased costs associated with this growth. Habitat for Humanity East Bay's estimated annual budget is $14 million. As we have grown, we have maintained our commitment to running an efficient organization. In 2006 90 cents of every dollar went directly into the construction of Habitat homes and into preparing low-income families for the responsibilities of homeownership.
Growing an organization in this tough economic climate is a challenge, but we are making progress. In support of this effort, we have launched our Dream Builder Society, a multi-year giving society. Dream Builder Society members select one of four pledge levels, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 or $25,000, and agree to make that annual gift to Habitat for Humanity East Bay for five years.
The Dream Builder Society will play an increasingly important role in helping Habitat East Bay to reach its goal of building at least 45 homes per year by 2010 in order to serve even more low-income families.
