Double Your Car Donation Today!

Now is your chance to double the impact of your car donation, and build even more homes for low-income families in our communities.

In recognition of Habitat for Humanity East Bay's great success in building and rehabilitating homes in Alameda and Contra Costa County, Habitat for Humanity International has awarded a challenge grant for all vehicle donations.  When you donate a car today through June 30, 2010 Habitat for Humanity International will DOUBLE the value by matching the value of each vehicle donation.

Funds raised through vehicle donations will go towards Habitat East Bay's Neighborhood Stabilization Program to help purchase, rehabilitate and sell forclosed homes to low-income families in the East Bay.

How it Works

Volunteer with Habitat East Bay!

All car donors will have a unique opportunity to work on East Bay foreclosures during the 2010 Partnership Project build day in May 2010 (TBD).  Car donors, partner families, Habitat staff and Habitat International Cars for Homes staff will come together to rebuild a home in the community. Giving them a chance to participate in building the homes that their car donations funded, while giving their neighbors a hand-up, not a hand-out.

“The 2010 Cars for Homes™ Partnership Project will provide donors in these counties with an easy and effective way to participate in Habitat East Bay’s green building and Neighborhood Stabilization Program, helping to build a stronger future for East Bay communities,” said Marcia Rundle, director Habitat’s Cars for Homes™. “The proceeds from each car donation and the matching grant will help purchase construction materials to build one house and rehabilitate two others in the East Bay.”

Donating a car is quick and easy with the Habitat Cars for Homes™ Program. We accept donated cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RVs and other vehicles and sell them through automobile auctions, recyclers or salvage yards to raise funds for local Habitat affiliates. Donors can call Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes™ toll-free number or make their car donation online. Donors receive an acknowledgement letter for their donation and can check with the Internal Revenue Service or their tax advisor for information about the tax deductibility of their donation.
