A New Years MessageJanice Jensen, Habitat for Humanity East Bay President and CEO, sends out a message reviewing the successes of 2011 and looking at the year to come. New Habitat East Bay homeowner, Francine Kakos, also takes the time to reflect on what it means for her family to be a part of Habitat East Bay.
At Habitat East Bay, we take pride in using donor dollars wisely. We steward contributions efficiently and effectively, invest the vast majority of donor dollars in on our housing programs, and allocate only a small percentage of funds to overhead expenses. Our funders include individuals, corporations, foundations, and faith organizations, and we receive grants and no-interest redevelopment agency loans from local government sources. Our EIN number is 94-3053687. We are an active 501(c)3 nonprofit in full compliance and in good standing with the IRS. Financial information, including our most recent audited financial statement and 990 is available on our fiscal responsibility page.
Bay Point Home DedicationOn December 15th, the Leon-Flores family received the keys to their new home in Bay Point in time for the holidays. The home, renovated as part of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, will also mark a milestone for Habitat East Bay - our 300th family served in the local community.

Built By the Bay CampaignHabitat for Humanity. It's a household name. But for some reason, awareness in the Bay Area seems pretty low. In an effort to get the word out, PG&E, a coalition of three Habitats (East Bay, Greater San Francisco and Silicon Valley) and ad agency Draftfcb SF all joined forces to create Built By The Bay. Featuring real-life volunteers, we celebrate the actual people who are the fuel behind Habitat for Humanity.
Leaving a Legacy Around the WorldOn November 4th, Trudy Heinecke, long-time Habitat East Bay supporter and Legacy Society member, was honored in memoriam at the National Philanthropy Day ceremony for her commitment to affordable housing. Trudy cared deeply about people in every corner of the globe and believed everyone deserved a safe place to live.

Help Renovate Abandoned HomesBay Area neighborhoods have been decimated by the current economic climate, leaving homes abandoned and communities vulnerable to blight.
